Comment: I like the show because of the characters and the stories. I mean, most of the characters feel like people I've either known in real life, or people I could imagine myself meeting. They all have faults and problems that aren't totally childish. Like, instead of being worried about making cakes, they worry about total rejection from those they thought were their friends after being lied to, which is something pretty mature for a show aimed towards young children. As for the stories, they seem to be the perfect blend of stuff for older and younger audiences. The storylines are fairly simple, but they contain pretty subtle references to things most kids wouldn't get.
Plus, this has got to be the nicest fandom out there. Most fandoms I've been on were made up of mostly jerks with a few nice guys or the nice guys and jerks were pretty evenly split. With the Friendship is Magic fandom, the jerks are the minority. Most of us just want to enjoy the show and share our enjoyment of it, and I have to admit, I've made a lot of friends because of this show.
In my opinion, Friendship is Magic isn't a show for little girls or even a show for girls. It's just a show that happens to have a mostly female casts and be based on a franchise made for little girls. It was made to be enjoyed by everyone.

Comment: @pokeanimal: Let's hope to God that Nootrac hasn't read "Cupcakes" nor ever will...I've never read it myself but one of my best guy friends has and he says that it's disturbing as f*ck and that he'll never be able to look at Pinkie Pie in the same way again.

Comment: As an unashamed brony, I think this is just part of the overall fact that good TV shows are hard to come by these days. Additionally, I think this version of My Little Pony is a major improvement over the old and the reason why it attracts male fans is largely because it makes itself less about being a franchise for girls and more about personalities and humor. For one thing, Applejack, Pinkie Pie, and Apple Bloom are my favorites because of personality. Additionally Rainbow Dash's presence shows that girls have personalities of all kinds, not just being all for playing with dolls and looking pretty. That alone also makes it a better franchise for girls than others I have seen. If they kept pushing the same old formula, I would not be a brony today.

Comment: I still don't think I was as clear as I could have been. I wouldn't mind your usually style of review, in fact, I'd expect it. but I was hoping you'd talk about the show itself.

Comment: I'm a girl and the moment i saw ads for this, i thought, "this is gonna suck cuz it looks like the ponyville toys that stood on two feet and are entirely plastic" for those reasons, i have not seen the show. and i love how people automatically assume you'd like it if you like other shows by lauren faust. the woman is talented, i'll give her that, but ponyville is not something i look fondly upon.(AND THEY LIVE IN PONYVILLE! NOT CANTERLOT!)but hey, if it has anvils and isn't a bubbling pile of acid to my mind, i'll give it a try.

Comment: im a female brony who grew up watching the first my little pony series. i think i can say with confidence that no one from the brony community is going to attack you. unless you consider love and tolerance an attack... in which case we are going to love and tolerate the SHIT outta you son.

Comment: Good show. I'm not against this show or it's fans. I actually saw one episode and thought it was good. It's just that I felt like I'm a tad old for it. Everyone involved with this episode has a lot of courage for poking fun at themselves. I give them major credit.

Comment: Why am I not surprised that this one has gotten so many comments so quickly?
@Katie: My real opinion is it's a good show, but nothing I'd go out of my way to see.
@Devon: Well, glad you liked it.
@Ken: You should know by now that I'm not going to be very serious about this stuff. This is a comedy show, if you want a good serious look at it do what ?<> said. Also, Rantasmo and Cinfully Wicked both give good short analyses of what they thought on the series as well.

Comment: This video was certainly funny. The bits with the fanfic writer had me in stitches. As for what makes the show both awesome and leaps and bounds ahead of its original counterpart:
1) the characters have actual depth to them and are interesting
2) It's hilarious
3) It's the only cartoon in years to have freaking ANVILS in it!
4) It's directed by someone who helped make the Powerpuff Girls, you know, the manliest 'girl' show out there.
5) The dialog has actual wit to it
6) It teaches lessons for both kids AND adults
7) It doesn't beat you over the head with said lessons
and 8) The villains, as few in number as they are, are pretty freaking bada**.
Also, you're reviewing Brave Little Toaster? That's one of my favorite movies of all time!

Comment: I know I don't count as a brony seeing as I'm a woman (I do love this show, though; my fave Pony is totally Applejack!), but quite a few of my guy pals are total bronies. This video was really great! Excellently done, fellas! PS, what WOULD you call adult women who are into "My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic"...sis-nies, maybe?

Comment: So far, this is one of the better episodes of Animated Analysis, especially with the running gag with that sick brony who wrote the perverted fan-fiction. That was pretty funny. Before that, the only thing I even liked about the show was Nootrac.
