Comment: @Carson- Not sure if I fully support that either as he wasn't even that good at adapting Lord of the Rings to film, but anyway... I'm with you, Stephan, I don't like Bakshi either. I think the only reason people like his stuff is because he was one of the few animation directors who had the balls to show parents that animation has never been secluded to just children's entertainment. And that I think is his biggest problem. I feel his films are made more for being mature just for the sake of being mature as opposed to actually telling good stories. As far as story telling goes, he sucks. Wizards was actually the closest I ever came to liking his stuff but even it's nothing special. (Though where did you get the idea this film was intended for kids? Was this actually confirmed by Bakshi himself or are there just a ton of parents out there who like showing this film to their kids?)

Comment: I agree with you about this movie and Ralph Bakshi, I've only seen his version of Lord of the Rings, but didn't really like it, the rotoscoping was bad, and it had THE worst Gollum ever!

Comment: You're sure this movie is intended for children? In Germany this movie is rated +16. I agree while it was boring and confusing at parts I still think it is an interesting piece of art.

Comment: Okay, I guess that's understandable. Thanks for responding, BTW. Also, you did miss something....Can you make Nootrac plushies? He's so freaking adorable and I want to hug him! The only way I could do that is if he were a doll or something.

Comment: @Katie: Alright, there's a lot to respond to there, I'll probably miss something. Firstly, he's intentionally a jerk. He's not a nice person, and I like that. I also really like dark humor, so there may be points where someone who doesn't like dark humor as much may be turned off(such as the abused part). Now, I respect everyone's opinion(okay, not everyone, but MOST). However, my character does not. While I give him my opinion, he's like me if I was REALLY mean. He's a jerk, as stated before. He will lighten up as things go on due to the circumstances he'll be thrown into, but he's not nice. He's bitter, angry, and he takes it out on everyone else. I personally find someone being really mean hilarious, but it may not be other people's speed. But to be clear, I write jokes I think are funny, that's the best way to guess if other people will think is funny. Bakshi didn't compare Disney himself to Hitler, but he did compare the company to Hitler(hence the image of Mickey, not Walt). I don't think everything should be held to the Disney standard, but I personally do have high standards(however unfounded they may be), and I find Bakshi's work to be REALLY low-par in this movie. It looks like a TV movie from the 70s, not a theatrical release. Anyway, those are my responses. Like I said, I probably missed something.

Comment: This movie is definately not for children! I mean Nazi refernces, cursing and such I am shocked and appualed by the movie! At least Watership Down was a little more "kid friendly" (and yes, I'm reffering to the movie!!!)

Comment: No offense, man, but your character is a jerk. Not a likeable jerk like all the other web critics out there, but a bad jerk. Look, you have the right to your opinion, and I do agree that Ralph Bakshi is a little overrated, but that joke about him being abused as a kid left a really bad taste in my mouth. Also, where did you here Bakshi called Disney Hitler? I heard him say in an interview that he though Disney was a genius and innovater. What he DID say was he was tired of everyone comparing his and other lesser known animators to Disney. I don't blame him either. He made movies around the time Disney was the king of cartoons and not many other animation studios were as succesful as the Mouse House. People thought every cartoons should be like Disney Hell, this is still done today. I know a lot of people who think Anastacia, and Swan Princess are Disney movies because of this. Though nowadays, Pixar and Dreamworks have become household names, people confuse Dreamworks for Pixar and vice versa. Also, you implied in your TLM2 review that you would erase Nootrac because he had a different opinion. Dude, not funny, and not cool. I know that's just your character in reviews, but still, you know you shouldn't threated to kill someone because they have a different opinion from you. Respect their opinion even when you don't think they're right or even when you know they're not right. Now, I'm not bashing you. You are a very talented person. You can play guitar, sing, you're a pretty damn good animator and some of your jokes are really funny. It would be so much better if your character was more likeable. Could you at least try to make your character a likeable jerk? Other than that, you're reviews are great! I love Nootrac, BTW. Can you do a review where it's only him? Maybe make Nootrac plushies for fans? Anyway, sorry for this large wall of text. I just wanted to point out a few things that were bugging me, and that might help you get better or maybe get a job at TGWTG sometime in the future :)

Comment: i don't really hate you for bagging on this movie. but i love it dearly. its what inspired me to become an artist in the first place 8 long years ago. i love its unique charming art style that seems to be lifted right from my favorite underground comic artist vaughn bode. a production like this can never happen again i mean the animation, the vocals, its so rough but charming for it. i have the dvd with directors comments and its fascinating to hear his thoughts and stories of things during production. also i can kind of see the sympathy for hitler thing even though hes jewish, i mean hitler was a human, when you forget that you make the same mistake he did. if bakshi was sympathizing with hitler it may be understanding that we all have parts to play in a war, and life was hell for the germans since world war one and they where suffering terribly. it was also supposed to be a set up for a sequel.

Comment: Ralph Bakshi is one of the world's best cartoonists. CARTOONISTS, not animators. He finds it hard to tell a story with animation, and it is especially true with low budget. If you pay attention, his storyboards tell the story better than the animated parts. Oh, and Wizards has one Hell of a soundtrack.

Comment: Well, to be fair the film was rather good, J. R. R. Tolkien's daughter liked it and was happy when she heard Bakshi would be adapting Lord of the Rings.
