Episode 9:
AniMat's Reviews:
Hoodwinked Too!
Not all fairy tales go by the book and
Hoodwinked Too! didn’t follow the book on how to make a good movie.

Comment: Ok, I'm one of those people who LOVED Hoodwinked! Even though the animation was bad, it gave the film a distinct look. I was really disappointed with Hoodwinked Too! for several reasons. 1. They changed the animation. Ok so maybe it was an improvement technically speaking, but Red didn't look like Red anymore. 2. The voice cast. Ann Hathaway didn't return to play Red, which I was very sad about. But Glenn Close, who voiced Granny in the first film, didn't sound like Granny. Also, Bill Hader and Amy Poehler should NOT voice children. At least Wolf was the same. He was the only funny character in the sequel. 3. The story. Fist of all, what is the sisterhood supposed to be? It's dumb. Granny was never a spy, just an extreme sports enthusiast. Any way, I did not like Hoodwinked Too! and am very glad I didn't waste money to go see it in theaters.

Comment: At first I thought "Hey, it can be a good movie." After I saw it I was like, "What the heck was that bullcrap!!!!!!" I think it would be better if they just ended it with the first one and left it alone. But, C'MON!! If they made Hoodwinked, they should have least made a WORTHY sequel!!!!! I actually had NIGHTMARES about this movie!!!! In my way it was a 1.

Comment: Frankly it looks like a really bad American Interpretation of this Anime show I saw one time... can't recall the name, but when I saw the trailer for this I was like... they totally just ripped off this anime... Instead of this movie I suggest watching either Tex Avery's amazing short "Little Red Hot Riding Hood" or the new series "Grimm" if you want a "cop twist" on fairytales...

Comment: this movie sounds bad. however, I do think villains that are evil just for the sake of being evil can work sometimes. TV Tropes files it under "For The Evulz".

Comment: I liked the first film despite the bad animation because of the story and interesting characters. And I saw this when they released it on TV.
I didn't even see the second one. I knew they would screw it up and they did.

Comment: I've never seen this movie, but I enjoyed the original too much to let it be spoiled by a sucky-looking sequel. You are a very brave soul to actually watch and review it, AniMat (much braver than me, anyway)! Good for you!

Comment: Worse than Mars Needs Moms? Seems that way. But is it worse than Tintin: Lake of Sharks? I don't think so... but that's just me... But believe me when I say that there are sequels worse than this... even a certain unofficial sequel...

Comment: I thought the first film had weak animation (compared to Pixar, DreamWorks, etc.) but it had a good story and humor to redeem itself. I haven't seen this one though, and I'm actually glad I didn't. The animation looks better but I'm sure it's pretty lame.

Comment: A three? It sounds like you're being too generous. (I haven't seen the film myself, but judging by what you were saying, I was expecting a two, or maybe even a one. Have you ever seen any twos or ones?

Comment: Wow...just wow. With the first one alone, that had creativity aside from its flaws of being a basic Sherk clone and trying to strive on pop culture references. But that one was little on the pop. I didn't see Hoodwinked Too, but I knew something was wrong from the start when they had Bill Murry as a character named "Mr. Alligator" and trouble release distribtion. Its martking deal with Burger King was off when its toys were releaesed without the movie. And that's proof alone. Other then that, thanks for reviewing this for our sins.
