Comment: Harsh scores AniMat. I have to say that I am the complete opposite of you, in most cases. First off this movie gave me no indication that it was taking from Ice Age 2 at all. Second I can see what you say about the story but it's not that bad. And third the characters are what make this movie and the franchise. It would be cool though to see a show about Scratt.

Comment: It IS a copy of Ice Age 2, glad I'm not the only one who noticed that. But the movie is still decent enough for me to want it as a Christmas present. PLEASE tell me there's not going to be a fifth one where Diego and Shira reproduce. If there has to be a worst entry in the Ice Age franchise, it has to be the Christmas special, since there was no Christmas during the Ice Age, because Jesus was not born yet.

Comment: I could say that Ice Age 3 is the best of the sequels, even if it was super stupid, i had fun with that film, Ice Age 2 was pretty dull and annoying, but decent, but this one is the worst of the franchise thanks for being a copy of the 2nd one, is not bad, but not so good, is just ok, a 6/10. I think that this film is much, much better than Hotel Transylvania.

Comment: Don't worry folks, this is the last Ice Age movie we will see in probably forever. Next Blue Sky is going to realease a film called "Epic" and then (gulp) "Rio 2". I think the reason why Fox is attacking everyone is because they hardly know how to make a decent animated film so the make a political debate about the "evil" qualities just to bring down their rivals. Ain't going to work Fox.

Comment: Personally, I didn't find "Ice Age 4" that bad. Sure it isn't perfect, but it doesn't have to be. It's a fun family flick with some good comedy, good animation and a cool and sometimes menacing villian with the voice of Peter Dinklage. But I respect your opinion too, AniMat.

I really liked the first one when it came out, the second was boring, and the third one, while is was on the stupid side, I did enjoy the idea of dinosaurs in the movie. When I first heard about this one, the first thing that went through my head was, "REALL!" Comment: I've only seen the first three Ice Age movies, and you're right, the second one wasn't the best one. I'm glad I didn't see this. Blue Sky needs to make more original movies, like "Horton Hears a Who." I'm pretty sure after this installment there will be no more Ice Age movies. Although I do believe Scrat should have his own movie/TV show. He's possibly the best character in the franchise anyway.

Comment: I actually predicted and got right on many points on what you would say. Ice Age 4 was lame and the worst of all ice age sequels (Ice age 1 was the best of all ice age films.) It was quantity over quality for characters, the pirates were useless, animation is the same as the previous films, the plot was mainly borrowed from Ice age 2, and old characters have not changed, or changed for the worse. I though Shira, Diego's love interest, her situation is too much like Diego's from the first film. The Longest Daycare was the best part but the film itself exists just to make a buck. Scrat is the nes part of this film and Blue Sky should do a film or show JUST on scrat. Great Review.

Comment: Mat, I think you nailed the biggest problem with the Ice Age sequels/franchise. The new characters aren't not interesting and for the most part annoying. The Toy Story sequels were able to make new interesting characters in the franchise like Jessie, Lotso, and Ken. I don't get that with any of the new characters in the Ice Age sequels except for maybe Buck in the third one. Simon Pegg is always amusing and he is the only bright spot in Ice Age 3. I don't care about Ellie and the Possums, who are really annoying imo.
