Episode 3:
Animation Lookback: Don Bluth (Part 3)
If you think you’ve reached the low point in your career, that’s pretty much nothing compared to Don’s low point.
The films in this part include:
Thumbelina (1994),
A Troll in Central Park (1994) and
The Pebble and the Penguin (1995).

Comment: Thumbelina; fairy in both ways (looks at "sparkling nonsense" (aka Twilight)), back to the lookback, I guess you have to download the music off of i-tunes, let us pray that no other animated film gets a Razzy, the bad films of 2012 aren't showing promise. A Troll in Central Park: Love what you did with the poster, this could have been good if anyone took it seriously, one of the main characters is still on a baby bottle and this is not "Rugrats" this is probably have tipped off people, this is on record as one of the biggest box office bombs in history, the only good thing that came from this film is a song and it is only good when applied to something else other than this film. The Pebble and the Penguin: "Thomas and the Magic Railroad" suffered the same problem because a major character was removed at the last minute, however unlike this film we don't see the fixed version, this film is another one of the biggest box office bombs in history, I hope that no animation company has to got through this.

Comment: I know that Thumbelina, A Troll in Central Park, and The Pebble and the Penguin were not great movies but to a small kid it has a good story. Thumbelina gives it a good build up for the romance and it answers my question from the original if she ever goes back home. The Troll movie actually gives my dad the inspiration to planet flowers and that we need to take care of our planet. And The Pebble movie talks about an underdog dork that finally gets his wishes and standing up to movie. Good movies: 50/50. Good movies for children: Yes. Flop of $$:Oh yeah.

Comment: Poor Don :( I feel sorry for him, especially what the Nostalgia Critic said about the film. I agree; it was total garbage! I did like Thumbelina and Pebble and the Penguin though! I didn't even notice the Pinocchio reference in Thumbelina, so Jaqimo is Don's take on Jiminy, just not as fun!

Comment: This is probably the worst era of Don Bluth's career, out of them Pebble and The Penguin is the only somewhat enjoyable one and it's not completely cringe worthy.

Comment: Love your video, but you missed another BIG chance at a bash joke against Thumbelina. Another reason it didn't do well is because it came out on the same weekend as the Lion King! XP

Comment: Of the three films talked about here, I have to say that The Pebble and the Penguin was my favorite because it was the least bad. Plus whenever I saw the VHS tape for it, I'd want to take a look at it and watch it.
Thumbelina and A Troll in Central Park however...I did not.

Comment: And another thing, Barry Manilow agreed with Don Bluth to write songs for three movies: "Thumbelina", The Pebble and the Penguin" and an adaptation of the story "Rapunzel". However, because of the financial disasters of both "Thumbelina" and "Penguin", the Rapunzel movie was never even made. Ouch.

Comment: I knew this was gonna be pretty nasty. However, the only one of those three movies I actually like is "The Pebble and the Penguin". Guilty pleasure. Yes, it has those animation errors, but I still like it anyway.
