I believe my words were somewhere along the lines of "most of her songs" have no emotional depth. Firework is the exception, although I would say it is still a pretty generic song, lyric-wise. It certainly touches a strong and common emotion that people have (of being useless and less than perfect) but as far as the execution of portraying this emotion, it has been done better by other artists.

Comment: I'm not a huge Katy Perry fan, either, but I do enjoy some of her songs, especially "I Kissed a Girl" and "Hot n' Cold." This is totally a great review, Face! PS, loved the opening number...didn't Hewy Toonmore used to use that song for his Animated Movie Reviews? And I was born in October of 1989, so I'm with you, I don't remember the 80's, but I do enjoy 80's movies...I know it probably sounds nerdy/childish, but my favorite 80's movies are probably "The Great Mouse Detective" and "The Little Mermaid."
