Comment: Start on Season 5 the lost season, clever. With no explanation from the shows canon, you really have no ground base to "Ripp" on the show. This is not a remake series, it's a new one. Based more on the comics, and actually have more input from the original co-creator peter Laird which the 80's cartoon did not do. Krang, bebop and rocksteady was never canon to the comics and only appeared in the old cartoon. In season 5, a ancient demon where the Shredder based his persona on got resurrected, and the turtles had to gain mystic powers to fight him. They got their powers from the amulets they carry, which was taken from them at the end of the season. you should research on the new show, rather then take a random episode and expect to see characters from a different show. Karai comes from the comics and never appeared in the old cartoon. She is the real leader of the Foot. The Shredder in the comics was only the leader of the Foot in USA. She is in the new show, Shredder's adoptive daughter and current leaser of the foot when the shredder was defeated. The ancient one or "tubby" as you called him are a master ninja who trained Hamato Yoshi, who was in the comic and in this show The owner of Splinter. They are not the same person. April, Casey and the rat king do appear in the show. But they don't spew out surfer slang and don't have pizza as main food source.

Comment: You really picked a really bad episode to just jump in on...this is from the 5th season of the show, and there is a lot of continuity built up. Good effort though.
