Comment: Well, I liked this video. Well, for me, I've seen Toy Story 3, Despicable Me, Alpha and Omega, Megamind and Tangled. However, I would watch How To Train Your Dragon on DVD. I was going to see Shrek 4, but I quit. I am still planning on watching the Secret of Kells.

Comment: Excuse me That Fellow! You say that "Winnie the Pooh" is your most anticipated release of 2011, but are you a big fan of "Meet the Robinsons" since they do happen to have the same director Stephen Anderson? Anyone who reads this I don't want to hear any "badmouthing" of this movie because I personally love "Meet the Robinsons". It's funny, spectacular, heartwarming. Like, it just appeals to that kid-sense of wonder we all had at one point. John Lasseter has brought back that touch Disney animated features were known for and I totally look forward to "Winnie the Pooh".

Comment: Haven't seen all these movies... but I do have some conmments:
1. Wanted to see "The Secret of Kells" until I found out from someone that it was only okay storywise...
2. Didn't like HTTYD as much as you did... I found it better than many other Dreamworks CGI features, but it still doesn't hold up against their hand-drawn work, in my opinion... also... the message was REALLY weird... it was like: Okay, dragons actually aren't bad, well... except for the one bad one... ?! I felt that ending was a cop out.
3. I hate Shrek...
4. Somehow I think Pixar pulled out that weird "each one is better than the last" thing w/ Toy Story, at least in my opinion...
5. Despicable Me... I liked less as I thought about it more, but it was all right... the real problem was the insane physics...
6. Didn't see it
7. I liked "Megamind" mostly b/c it was fairly clever... liked the twist near the end... it was fun, and it really did have a good heart, which I haven't seen much of from Dreamworks...
8. TANGLED WAS THE BEST ANIMATED MOVIE OF THIS YEAR... only problems... Mother Gothel was a little weak... songs were forgettable... and HTF DID SHE GET A CHAMELEON?!
Others: Alpha and Omega was pretty much terrible... and Tales from Earthsea is FREAKING GORGEOUS, but mind boggling in terms of story, even if you've read the whole Earthsea series...
Not looking forward to the sequels, but the other upcoming ones look good... and I hope "We Belong Together" wins an Oscar, even though it probably won't...

Comment: I have to admit I wasn't a huge fan of "Secret of Kells" either. I guess it partially comes from the fact that I know squat of the actual book, but I wasn't intrested much in the progression of the story nor did I like the throw-away threat of the vikings (they come, ransack things, and leave, and that was it.) I did like the visuals and animation (I was expecting slightly-better-than-robotic flash-a-mation and got better to my surprise) and Aisling was the most intresting character in the piece, I also liked Abbot Cellach as well. I'd recommend "Owls of Ga'Hoole" and I'd say forget about "Alpha and Omega". "Tales from Earthsea" hasn't opened near me as well, and "Idiots and Angels" had opened but I missed out on it.

Comment: Eoghan: Bashing and criticizing are two very different things. I for one, saw Secret of Kells and found it to be somewhat on the same level as what Thatfellow described. Thatfellow: You got a good video here. I would seriously recommend "Guardians" though. I enjoyed it because I found it to be something different from the rest in the batch.

Comment: You are so going to get a lot of hate mail and backlash for bad-mouthing The Secret of Kells. The Book of Kells is a very important item in Medieval Ireland, it's an illuminated manuscript Gospel book in Latin. It contains the four Gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John. Not to mention that the film stars Brendan Gleeson from Harry Potter, 28 Days Later and the recent Perrier's Bounty. I'm pretty sure the Irish aregoing to be offended by your criticisms.

Comment: ??? You won't see an anime if it is not by Hayao Miyazaki? Is that some kind of prejudice against anime? plus Tales of Earthsea is by Miyazaki's son, and considering how much you like Hayao I was expecting you to have high expectations for the film.

Comment: Kells does not have a dull story.
It is just quiet, and not fast-paced.
Europeans like those kinds of stories.
I believe it is not fair to judge any film, simply by our local standards of "all-out-action".
That Fellow: I did praise My Dog Tulip in the same video and that is almost the very definition of a quiet, European story. And there was a lot less action in that flick than there was in Kells.Name: Charles Moss

Comment: Hate to burst your bubble, but The Borrowers movie has been pushed back to February 2012. That ticks me off cuz i was looking forward to this, and other countries are already getting this released this year. How stupid is that? Oh well, at least we have these other toons to look forward to.

Comment: Liked Dragon; I look forward to reviewing Secret of Kells; Shrek 4 was okay; Megamind was cool; Despicable Me was far from Despicable; Tangled and Toy Story 3 are the 2010 animated film equivalent of God and Jesus! If they don't get the Oscar gold they truly deserve, then Satan will have his vengeance!!!

Comment: Nice video Mr. Fellow. I can't wait for Winnie the Pooh to be released! Rango looks promising (even with Johnny Depp), Kung Fu Panda I'll probably wait until it's on DVD, and the same with Cars 2. Cars 2 seems interesting, though, and I cant't wait to see what Pixar has in store for it (storywise).

Comment: Nice review, I also agree that although Dreamworks is getting carried away with thier Shrek franchise, it's good that thier original films are getting better and better. Also, I think Pixar should deserve to win for best picture considering Toy Story 3 is the third aniimated feature to be nominated for Best Picture, so in a way, third time's a charm

Comment: I think in order to truly appreciate Kells, you need to research the actual Book of Kells that it was based off of. Also, how were the characters uninteresting? Aiden is hilarious and delightful while Abbot is the most complex character of the bunch. I too feel you kinda looked at the film the wrong way, but that's just me.

Comment: Great job, Fellow! I completely agree with you on Secret of Kells! I tried to like it, but the plot was boring. The animation and music were beautiful though. Loved Toy Story 3, Dragons, and Tangled. I haven't seen The Illusionest or My Dog Tulip yet, but I hopfully will eventually.
Also, you didn't mention three upcoming animated films. Suprised you didn't talk about the Tintin movie, the Smurfs movie or Illumination Entertainment's Hop.
That Fellow: I don't consider motion-capture to be a form of animation, hence no mention of Tintin. Smurfs and Hop are more like live-action films with computer-generated special effects.Name: Andrea

Comment: Megamind and HTTYD were my favorite films of the year.
I went to Tangled, but I missed a few scenes and I was in a bitter mood that day so I'll have to watch it again on dvd. I felt that Toy Story 3 was good, but it wasn't as fun as the other two films. Scary moments combined with a bittersweet story was just a little too much for me. Don't get me wrong, I still like movies that make me emotional, it's just that it was so depressing and I'd rather watch the first two Toy Stories than the third one, but all in all they are a good trilogy. I also loved Despicable Me, and I thought it had just the right amount of sweetness :)
As for Shrek 4. I thought it was a thousand times better than Shrek 3. Rumple was a better and more fun villain than Prissy Charming, there were no awkward moments like in the third movie, the action, humor and emotion was back. We also got to see Shrek and Fiona fall in love again, which was sweet and not forced at all. BTW was anyone else reminded of Beauty and the Beast when Shrek was turning to dust? Whatever, Shrek 4 was a nice finale.
All in all, it was a good year for animation. I really hope that after Dreamworks' next three sequels, they'll continue making movies as great as HTTYD and Megamind (my two newest faves) and not go back to the Madagascar style.

Comment: "Toy Story 3" was definitely the BEST animated movie of 2010! It deserves the Best Animated Feature Oscar! As for "How to Train Your Dragon", I thought it was good, not great. I like the fact the they put some effort into it like making it look live-action, but I felt that it got too dull sometimes. I don't know, maybe I'm just weird that way. Also, I HATED "SHREK 4"! They should've ended with the 3rd movie! But I really liked "Despicable Me"! The Minions rocked! I also happened to like "Megamind" a bit more than "Dragon". Again, I'm funny that way, I guess. I believe that "Alpha and Omega" wasn't terrible. just OK. "Legend of the Guardians", on the other hand, IS SPECTACULAR and much more worth seeing.
