The reason "Tangled" was called that instead of "Rapunzel" was, according to Disney, the original title indicates that the film is just for girls. It all comes down to how well it was marketed. Apparently "The Princess and the Frog" was marketed for "girly girls who don't grow up" even though it was aiming for those who like classic Disney movies. The result was it was out-grossed by "ALVIN AND THE CHIPMUNKS THE SQUEAKWAL"!!! (I'm taking a break to kill something). Anyway, Disney doesn't want to take any chances, so "The Snow Queen" was renamed "Frozen". As for the title change for "Brave", creative differences? All I know is as a movie "Brave" had its charm and likability, as a Pixar film, it does nothing for the company. I can see it winning an award, but not multiple like their first 11 films. Looks like the animation fans took back your precious ace Sigeeyai

I saw Brave today with my best friend, and we both thought it was a really cute movie. I personally found the story to be interesting and the characters enjoyable (I particularly liked the triplet brothers) and even relatable at times. We both also felt the overall pacing of the movie to be well-done. There have been a few movies where, even thought the film was entertaining, I would find myself thinking "I know this movie can't be close to being over at this point, but I'm kinda ready for it to be over now." With Brave, I never thought that for one second. In fact, when we left the cinema, we were surprised to see that nearly two hours had passed.
As a whole, I thought the movie was good. At heart, it's a story about the relationship between a mother and daughter who both let their stubbornness keep them from understanding each other, something that a lot of people can identify with. (However, I agree about the title. The titles of Tangled and Brave make very little sense in regards to the actual story)

I liked Brave. It was something unusual. Do you think you could review Mickey, Donald, and Goofy in the Three Musketeers or Who Framed Roger Rabbit?

It's a mixed reaction with this film. On one hand I really like it. Great animation, an enjoyable plot, and I like the characters. But I don't know, I guess it was wrong for a lot of people to get there hopes up for this movie just because Cars 2 wasn't that great. Every studio has there bad egg, even PIXAR. Hell, Studio Ghibli has directed some bad films, but we still love them. I think for what it is, "Brave" is fine. Not as creative as the previous films. Nor was the story as compeling like "The Incredibles", "UP", or "Toy Story 3". But at the end of the day, I came out of the theater smiling. :-)

@Hewy- I was referring to all the people freaking out over the fact that it had negative reviews on Rotten Tomatoes, like, asking what was wrong with the critics for disagreeing and all that, not to mention the villain assuming you wouldn't like it just from that fact alone seemed really dumb on his part, although I guess that was supposed to be funny. XD

I can see the areas that you criticized Hewy but like you said it is a good film. And you were dead on when you said that the kings were the best characters. Gotta love the Scottish.

To Neil Dunsmore: I dodn't bash this movie, its just that to me, it's better than Cars 2, but isn't as good as Pixar's previous works. I really wanted to love this movie...but I guess I just got overhyped is all.

There is one thing that gets me about this review and the people commenting on it: Really? So... the fact that 26% of the critics didn't like it means it's poorly received and unpopular and thus risks being bashed by Hewylewis... Seriously, does anyone even know what an overall fresh rating means anymore?

Okay, I watched Brave yesterday. And I thought it was cool. The story was okay. Even though I knew it borrowed the transformation part from Brother Bear, but it's different. To me. I thought Merida was an attractive character like Rapunzel. And some others. Well, I think all of Pixar films have amazing animation. That's what I always though. I though the major intense scene in this film always involved the monster bear. And I liked the hilarious moments, even though there some scenes with nudity. But over, it's a good animated movie. Although, I did liked the previous title for it. Oh well. Nice review though and Count Seegiyai, you're really back.

I felt that with an epic and engaging story, memorable characters, good humor and fantastically spectacular animation "Brave" was a fantastic movie and one of Pixar's best films since "Toy Story 3". Good review anyway, Hewy, as usual.

I actually really loved "Brave;" the story was good, the animation was gorgeous, and Merida is now officially my second favorite animated heroine of all time (after Belle from "Beauty and the Beast.") Cool review, Hewy! I especially liked Count Sigeeyai's appearance. And yeah, Queen Elinor bothered me at times, but I still liked her. She kinda reminded me of King Triton from "The Little Mermaid;" you can tell that both parents love their rebellious daughter, but they still want her to listen to them and take somewhat drastic measures to gain her attention, and in the end they learn to respect her wishes.

@Hewy Toonmore At what point did Andrew say he liked any of those things? Maybe he enjoys the movie a whole lot even if those things bother him.
In all seriousness, in regards to this response a similar (if not identical) one you made on the YouTube page, I don't think you're being very fair. If you don't like these aspects, fine. If you don't think Pixar should be doing these kinds of things, fine. But please don't automatically assume that by loving the movie, a person also loves the things that you seem to be bothered by. A person can still love a movie will all of his/her heart and still find major flaws in it.

I hate to say this, but as a fan of the medieval times and sword and sorcery films I fell in love with Brave. It's my third favorite Pixar Film behind "Finding Nemo" and the "Toy Story Trilogy". I didn't really find the story as predictable as most people did, in fact I thought the moral of this movie was a really nice one. The soundtrack is also a really beautiful addition. I'll certainly get a copy of this when it comes out on Blu-Ray. Good review Hewy!

Honestly, I really liked Brave. ^^ It had stellar animation, great characters, and an okay story. It may be a bit slow in the middle but the beginning and ending is what really saved it. It's not perfect but it's not terrible. I'll certainly add it to my DVD collection when it comes out.
Also, ha ha Count Sigeeyai! Your evil plan didn't work! But I'm a little concerned about what he's planning next...
