Comment: Hmph... was almost about to check out this review, until I saw in the description alone you stated it to be a another "masterpiece" by Miyazaki. Miyazaki is overrated, and you are delusional.

Comment: I know Nostalgia Critic said this already, but this movie is a like a crossover between Legend of Zelda-Majora's Mask and Disney's Little Mermaid. Think about it, the moon is on collousion with the earth which will cause the world to end (like in Majora's Mask)and it references Little Mermaid because Ponyo like Ariel wishes to be human.

Comment: I found the movie to be quite cute. Noah Cyrus' voice kinda reminds me of Daveigh Chase in Spirited Away. Y'know, I'd be surprised if Miyazaki decided to do a movie about a girl becoming a giantess because of some magic that's been bestowed upon her and she tries to become accepted for her new size. Hey, it could happen, right?

Comment: I liked Ponyo, but I found the story to be a little confusing and sort of... limp... also, except for Liam Neeson, I didn't like the dubb, and I usually really think Disney dubbs are pretty good... except the Disney dubb of Totoro... that's horrendous... However, the animation was spectacular... of course it was... it's Studio Ghibli... anyway... I wouldn't give it a perfect score as I felt it was a little weak in terms of storytelling and I don't like the Disney dubb... I especially don't like the English version of the song... but the movie is still worth a watch, certainly... Are you going to review, "Tales from Earthsea" I saw that in theatres, and even after having read all the Earthsea books it confused the pants off me!!! Miyazaki Goro needs to brush up on his storytelling skills... the main problem was there was a lot of necessary backstory leading up to the time when the movie starts and it's not explained really at all... this causes the audience to disconnect with the characters and also just general confusion as to why what is going on is important... anyway... the animation in it is also stunning, but the story... you're head will be spinning... and there are stretches of it that can seem boring and useless... I hope the next one will be better written.

Comment: Although I didn't go see Ponyo in theatres, I've watched it on DVD a few months ago and I like it as well as The Princess And The Frog. As ususal, good review. And yeah, I somehow knew mermaid was involved in it.

Comment: Good review, i LOVED Ponyo. You pronounced Ghibli and Ponyo wrong. The actual romanization is Jiburi, and the Po in Ponyo sounds like the Po in Pokemon. But thats a little nitpick coming from a picky Japanese student. Awesome job!

Comment: I wanted to go see Ponyo so much...I've only recented really gotten into Miyazaki...actually, I've only seen Kiki's Delivery Service and Spirited Away. But, I really wanna see My Neighbor Totoro, Naucissica of the Valley of the Wind, Howl's Moving Castle, Princess Mononoke, and Ponyo. But, it's hard to find these films (I've only found more that just Howl's Moving Castle in a video store a few cities away) and Ponyo isn't playing in any theaters around here.

Comment: Pretty good review. I cried when I saw 'Ponyo' as well. I thought 'Up' was not going to have any competition this year, but with 'Ponyo' it will be close for best animated movie. You mispronounced "Die Walküre" (dee valk[yu]re) with the 'yu' as one letter, but that's nothing against you.
