Comment: To me, Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker is the superior movie by far. I can accept the chip story - because it IS a suspension of disbelief, and makes the story more disturbing to me - which is one of the reasons why I love it. Return of the Joker is more dark, thought-provoking, original and deep than Mask of the Phantasm, IMO. Not to mention - Return of the Joker didn't feel the need to add in a love story. I never felt like the love story of Mask of the Phantasm was that good... it was actually pretty boring. Oh, and not to mention - the Joker is just simply nailed perfectly in Return of the Joker.

Comment: Hear's an interesting Reel Vr. Reel you could do "Who Fraimed Roger Rabit" Vr. "Cool World". I know there both half live action half animated but think about it.

Comment: And I apologize to comment again, connection and all, but for your comment on Advent Children with Kadaj (who gets turned into Sephiroth) its because him and the other 2 are actually Sephiroth clones, and they already had Jenova cells in them. But as Vincent says, Kadaj is in the larva form for Sephiroth's return. Besides, it was hinted in the original game that Sephiroth could return as many times as long as there are the clones alive that was created by Hojo. Hence the literal translation of his name to mean "Numbers" in Hebrew...Oh God I had a geek moment...

Comment: Batman is, without a doubt, my favorite comic book hero. I've seen both movies and I have to agree that Mask of the Phantasm is better than Return of the Joker but I like both films. I had the same reaction when it came to the chip on Drake's neck. You know, I think it would have been a lot better and more interesting if the Joker in the flashback was a fake one, like a clone, a robot or even Clayface in disguise and the one in the future was the real one, waiting for the right moment to attack Batman when he's most vulnerable, when Batman thought that the Joker was really gone. I enjoyed both movies but Mask of the Phantasm also had something that bugged me and another reviewer has pointed it out as well. In the scene where Bruce proposes to Andrea, it lead me to believe that Bruce didn't want to avenge his parents' death anymore and wanted to live a normal life. I'm pretty sure this is what his parents probably wanted, but still, Bruce made a vow that he will avenge their deaths. That scene alone made the scenes where he was training to be pointless. If he wanted to have a normal life with Andrea, what was the point of the training to become Batman? I mean, he probably still wanted to be become Batman, but when Andrea appeared, everything... changed. The movie is telling us that he didn't choose to be Batman, he was FORCED to become Batman because the only woman he loved dumped him. Forced might not be a suitable word, but this is the best I can describe. I don't know what the writers wanted to tell us with this scene, but then again, that's just my opinion. Overall, both films are great and are just what Batman fans love.

Comment: @TheBatfan: The only batman comic I've actually read is The Killing Joke, but I suppose I should try to pick up some at some point and give them a try. @Alex and Neil: Yeah, I'm doing the two Don Bluth films together. I'll pair The Great Mouse Detective with something else. :) @Andrew: I do like both movies, I just think one is better crafted then the other. @Frank: Lol...so I'm not the only one who thought Watchmen and The Incredibles had a similar premise? I don't know if that would work even if I did make the exception. Watchmen would be a tough film to match up with anything. Love the other ideas though and I'll keep my eye open for anything to match the Incredibles up with. @Jacob: Yes, yes it is...but with only one n. It's short for Danielle, but anyone who calls me that will get a death stare. @AmericanFlag1: Thanks :) I have, it's going to be a Halloween special. Maybe I'll throw in Corpse Bride, but mainly I wanted to compare those two because they had the same Director. @Annie: Prior to this week I had not seen it either. The Animated Series is really good, but yeah I'll probably keep watching both shows. @Andrea: Regular Show's okay. I don't have a really strong opinion on it either way. It's one of those shows I don't mind watching when it's on. Phineas and Ferb I've seen maybe once and it seemed entertaining, but I couldn't really give you much of an opinion based on that. I rarely watch the Disney Channel unless they're playing a movie. @Katie: Guilty pleasures? Not many animated guilty pleasures, I do love anything with Gordon Ramsey in it if that counts. Ah, and movies like John Tucker Must Die, The House Bunny and Sidney White...those are guilty pleasures for me. :p

Comment: @Alex- I think she's already planning to do Secret of NIMH vs. An American Tale since they were Bluth's first two films and one was significantly more successful than the other.

Comment: Awww, I like the Total Drama series. Though aside from season 1, it's a guilty pleasure more than anything. Do you have any guilty pleasures? Anyway, great comparison! You've reminded I really need to see Batman:TAS TT__TT

Comment: What is your opinion on Regular Show and Phineas & Ferb? Just curious, since 1) You mentioned Adventure Time so I assume you've seen Regular Show and 2) ...I just want to know your opinion on Phineas & Ferb. Please reply, thank you :)

Comment: Wish there was a animated movie similar to The Incredibles(one of my favorite superhero/animated movies ever) for you to review and compare.I would say Fantastic 4 or Watchmen because of similar story, but it's live action. I did think of some other ideas though. Anastasia vs. Quest for Camelot (Battle of the Cheap Disney knock-off films),Wallace and Gromit movie vs. Chicken Run (Better Ardman/Dreamworks movie), and James and the Giant Peach-mostly animated vs. Fanatastic Mr. Fox (Better Roald Dahl film adaptation).

Comment: You should do The Great Mouse Detective vs. An American Tail. The only things that these's 2 movies have in common is that they both came out the same year, and they both star mice.

Comment: Fantastic review as usual Animated Heroine. I don't know why more people aren't interested in comic book lore, it's incredibly fascinating. I've always been more of a D.C. comics fan. The Batman comic series and its vast array of characters have always been so engaging and different than anything I've ever seen. *By the way, if anyone is interested in the comics...the Batwoman comic series is fantastic! The artwork is beautiful and Kate Kane's story is so engaging! They are in the second story arc now...you will be engrossed in her story.*

Comment: @Meg: Yeah, Batman is awesome. I'm really looking forward to Dark Knight rises. I'm getting kind of sick of about 80% of the shows Cartoon Network is coming out with these days. At least they still play some of their older shows tho. @Karlo: You know, I've actually seen Gotham Knight. The same friend who has the entirety of TaS bought it and invited a bunch of people to watch it at his house. He usually does that whenever he gets a hold of a new superhero movie. He's a true comic book nerd. It was quite good. It's been a while so I should pick it up again. Cw93: Thanks :) I wish I had discovered it sooner.

Comment: Ah, a girl after my own heart. Can't find too many girls who have an interest in Batman. Glad you like both movies and I find both of them to be pretty good even if Return of the Joker is more Sci-Fi but even then some of Batman's rogues gallery look like they belong in science fiction or fantasy stories. Oh, and I highly recommend Batman: Gotham Knight. The anime look is interesting, having it be a collection of various stories and having each story be done by a different animation studio is also really good. Oh, and it has Kevin Conroy as Batman you can't beat that!

Comment: I'm not a huge fan of superheroes, but I must say that Batman is one of my favorites, because he relies on brains and skills (not to mention a boatload of gadgets) to win the day rather than superpowers, and the Joker is easily one of the (if not THE) best supervillains ever! Excellent review, Animated Heroine! PS, I agree with you about the "Total Drama" series...I liked "TD Island," but after that it went downhill EXTREMELY fast and they seriously need to pull the plug ASAP.
