Comment: For what I have seen from this movie, the animation in the opening seems far better than when the dinosaurs start talking. What I mean is that the textures, all of the textures, look smoother or...not fully rendered. Knowing about how all of the movie was going to be silent, it might be they rushed the animation. If anyone notices what I am talking about, confirm or deny, I halfway care. G'bye

Comment: Disney has actually made a CGI film that is good, "Tangled". Don Bluth wanted to make a dinosaur documentary, but marketers make the dinos talk to market to kids. Disney wanted to make a dinosaur documentary and Eisener made the dinosaurs talk to market the film to kids. Pixar is making a dinosaur themed film for 2014, if it is supposed to be a documentary let us all hope that Pixar gets their ways and KEEPS it into a documentary. Still, I enjoy "Dinosaur", while it misses the mark of being as serious as a documentary, it is still serious and an enjoyable film.

Comment: I think Disney needs to do something diferent to bring it back to it's feet. Infact my nuber one favoert Disney film is Fantasia I loved it as a kid and as an adult (I love it even more as an adult though)becuse of how diferent it is (pluse it got me into classicl music and dinosars, and yes I agree THe Land Before Time is the better film). My idea wold be to make a film based of a video game the purfict one wold be The Legend of Zelda. Not shur if they'll take the idea but a girl can dream can she?

Comment: @ Frank I agree with you I'd love to see Treasure Planet in 3D Along with this movie. Another one I'd like to see is V for Vendetta in 3D even though not a Disney film it can work in 3D.

Comment: Actually, there were primates around at the end of the Cretaceous Epoch, I'll be it they looked more like squirrels than lemurs.

Comment: @Frank - I recall that one was seen in IMAX, but in 3D...that would be an intersting pick as well.

Comment: Wonderful review Morgan, its nice to hear that you pointed out the positives in this movie! I was a Dinosaur nut when I was a kid and yes "Dinosaur" was one of my all-time favorite movies along with "Jurassic Park" and "The Land Before Time". I agree that this movie didn't top "The Land Before Time" (which it bears many similarities to) and I think the movie would've looked nicer without the talking dinosaurs, but you know what its an enjoyable prehistoric adventure none-the less; especially seeing how only a handful of the pre-80s Dinosaur movies range from classic to decent. I agree that the soundtrack kicks ass, and it's nice that the creators didn't feel the desire to put songs in the film. The animation was incredible for the time and still looks impressive. I also liked how the movie didn't include the common cliche with Dinosaur films and included a whole variety of different dinosaurs rather than the repetitive species(Tyrannosaurus, Triceratops, Stegosaurus and Apatosaurus) featured in most Dinosaur films. Looking forward to the next review Morgan, even I hate I hate Jurassic Park III so friggen much. At least today I do.)

Comment: @Jacob: Eh...I couldn't think of another comparison that could work...Charleton Heston's Moses was like a logical character with the wisedom of Dumbledore but muscular....yeah... @Lady Dryer: That is true but 3D animation as opposed to 2D (as in two dimensional)animation. Still, I would like to see this in 3D for kicks. There are a lot of shots and scenes where this aspect could work.

Comment: i don't know if people, including reviewers like AniMat and that one guy who made REALLY long documentaries of Disney (and he's on his twenty-fourth one!) know this, but this is technically the first 3D film in the canon. The second would be Chicken Little. I guess they met to say Chicken Little was the first 3D in five years since this film you've just reviewed.

Comment: Good review. You give all your opinions on this movie, good as bad - which is how I think every reviewer SHOULD be doing it. Not just be on one side, but try to look at things from different perspectives. That being said... even back when I was 12 the first time I saw it when it was released, I really preferred the opening above the rest. I can not really forgive this movie for adding in dialogue and monkeys; I thought that was just bullshit. :/ I prefer The Land Before Time by far myself. So, Jurassic Park 3 next huh? Everyone seems to hate that one except me. I love all three movies - and the reason I love three second to the first one, is because of a lot of factors. Things always happens in it, it's the most scary of the three therefor giving me an adrenaline kick, and I honestly really dig the Spinosaurus. It feels like a bigger threat than the Tyrannosaurus, and I think that's awesome. I know Jurassic Park 3 has problems I can spot... bu then again, same goes for the first two. But at least it's a very entertaining and enjoyable movie to me - and that is what matters to me. I can tell you will hate the joke about the Spino having a cellphone noise from it's stomach... I personally just found it hilarious though. Oh, and you will probably also talk about how they changed the raptors in the third movie from the two first ones? Well, uhm... yeah, that's one of the flaws the movie has, even if it's a technical flaw and not a story flaw - I'll admit that. Will look forward to your Jurassic Park 3 review either way though. I love it, but I can hopefully understand your point of view once you'll explain it. And once again, I'll say I think this was a good review. :)
