Comment: I remember seeing bits of this on TV and seeing Thomas Gibson in it was just painful. While I know it was 5 years before he played Hotch, I just couldn't help but cringe. In fact since pretty much everyone in my house LOVES Criminal Minds(we have all the DVD's,) after I showed them this movie; we agreed to never talk about it ever again. :D

Comment: After having such a financial smash hit with the first Flintstones movie, they got so much wrong with this prequel. In the cartoon, Barney was the smarter of the two, since he was always warning Fred of the consequences of his actions. In Viva Rock Vegas, he's retarded. I mean, how did Barney go from being retarded to a genius in the original 1994 film? Also, Fred was the one who ate a lot, not Barney. I really like Barney, but this movie's portrayal of him really disgusts me.

Comment: God this movie is terrible. I do agree that Jane Krakowski was a good casting choice as Betty, much better than Rosie O'Donnell. Not to mention that this supposed prequel contradicts one major thing from the first film. Fred said that he met Wilma at a food eating contest, which is clearly not how it went in this film. That's worse than any contradictions Lucas made in the Star Wars prequels. However, that's only one flaw in the film. You pretty much covered the rest. Great review!
